Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She also serves as the Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely credited with beginning the current scientific study of children's witness memory as well as child victims as witnesses in legal contexts. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with numerous papers and grants and is the recipient of numerous international and national awards. She has been a consultant to numerous organizations and government officials across the world regarding policies and studies on children as victims within the legal system. She acts as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She's a member of a variety of professional organizations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
